Our Story
Thompson Valley Preschool has been part of the Loveland community since 1970. Our school began as a Community Action Outreach Program serving single parents and migrant families and has grown into a nonprofit preschool dedicated to making high-quality early childhood education accessible to local families.
For more than 50 years, TVP has provided children with a safe and welcoming place to learn, build confidence, form relationships, and develop the skills they need for kindergarten and beyond.
Learning at TVP
We believe young children learn best through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, supportive relationships, and developmentally appropriate instruction. Our well-rounded program supports the whole child by giving children opportunities to:
Build social-emotional skills and positive relationships
Explore their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills
Strengthen communication and early literacy skills
Grow in independence, confidence, and school readiness
Develop physical skills through active play
Our teachers create engaging learning experiences based on each child’s interests, individual needs, and developmental stage. Children are encouraged to explore, make choices, express themselves, and experience the joy of learning.
Meet Our Team
Our teachers are at the heart of Thompson Valley Preschool. Together, they bring decades of experience in preschool and elementary education, special education, childcare, and literacy programs, along with a genuine love for working with young children.
Our four lead teachers work together throughout the week to provide a consistent and supportive classroom experience. Because we are a small preschool, our teachers are able to get to know each child and family personally and create a classroom where children feel safe, supported, and comfortable being themselves.
Our teaching staff participates in ongoing professional development and maintains all required training and certifications, including First Aid and CPR.
Meet Our Board
As a nonprofit preschool, Thompson Valley Preschool is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our board members bring different skills, experiences, and perspectives to the school. Together, they help make important decisions, support TVP’s staff and programs, and plan for the preschool’s future.
Join Our Board
We are currently looking for new board members who want to get involved and support Thompson Valley Preschool. Our board meets quarterly to share ideas, offer guidance, and help plan for the preschool’s future.
If you are interested in using your skills and experience to support local children and families, we we’d love to hear from you.
